Alex Stubbolo, MSGC

Alexander Stubbolo guides individuals with personal and/or family histories of cancer through the genetic testing process, answering their questions and discussing options. He assesses which tests can be helpful, coordinates testing, and interprets results to help shape individuals' decisions about managing surveillance for cancer and their approach to prevention or treatment, if necessary.

A licensed genetic counselor, Alex studied biology at the University of Delaware and earned a master's degree in human genetics and genetic counseling from Thomas Jefferson University. He completed genetic counseling rotations in cancer and other disciplines at several hospitals in the northeast before coming to practice at Redeemer Health in partnership with MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper.

As a kid Alex saw loved ones affected by cancer and knew that he wanted to work in cancer care to help others through the healing process. He became a genetic counselor for its unique opportunities to demystify the hard science of genetics and help people access their relevant genetic information. His philosophy of putting people first shows in the compassionate connections he makes with patients and others around him.

In his free time, Alex likes to hike with his dog and write short fiction.
