No Surprises Act

As of January 2022, the No Surprises Act went into effect to protect patients from unexpected medical bills resulting from care received in situations where a patient has little or no control over their care providers. The No Surprises Act also guarantees that emergency services must be provided and covered without the need for prior authorization and regardless of whether a provider is in-network or not.
